About Alaskan Air Service

AAS was created in February 2005 after the acquisition of now defunct Alaskan Bush Air. After months of re-organization and careful planning, AAS is proud to offer it's well known exceptional service to native Alaskans as well as tourists. AAS is a direct subsidary of of Air Northwest Virtual Airlines. The Alaskan Airlines subsidiary of Air Nortwest saw the growing need to extend its reach by providing extended routes to the remote areas of Alaska that their current fleet could not obtain. The purchase of Alaskan Bush Air allowed AAS to incorporate it's desired coverage, as well as meet the demands and desires of resident Alaskans and tourist communities alike.

As the routemap below shows, Alaskan Air Services now provides unparalleled coverage and service to the communities of Southern, Central, and Western Alaska. Operating a fleet of comfortable, rugged, and well-maintained aircraft to meet the demands of our customers.

Air Northwest pilots who are qualified First Officer or higher are able to fly any AAS route for full flight hour credit. AAS flights flown should be reported on the standard flight report form in the same manner as ANW mainline or alliance partner flights. ANW Trainees are welcome to download the aircraft and fly the flights, but may not submit them for flight hour credit. Pilots will notice that many AAS flight numbers are made up of multiple short legs. One need not complete all legs of a particular flight to submit their flight report as time will be awarded appropriately for those legs actually flown.
